Undergraduate and Graduate level Scholarships by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations of India under the ICCR Scholarship Programme for the Academic Year 2018-19.

The Embassy of India in Dakar is pleased to announce that the Indian Council of Cultural Relations (ICCR) of Govt. of India is offering the scholarships under the Africa Scholarship Scheme for the Academic Year 2018-19. The Embassy has started the processing of new applications for the Academic Year 2018-19 through online system from this year now. The aspirants are are now required to fill-in application by themselves at the following Web Link “A2A ICCR Scholarship portal”: http://205.147.97.190/iccr/. The applicants have to first register themselves on the Portal and choose their own login email ID and create their login password, which would be used by the system to keep you posted of the processing status. After the applicants have applied for a course, they must take a printout of the application and send it to the Embassy of India, Dakar through the nominating Ministry/Organisation of their country along with all relevant and required documents (Original photograph on the application). The Embassy of India, Dakar will retrieve the application using the unique Application ID of the application and further process and transmit it to the Indian authorities for further action. The applicants are advised to read very carefully the Instructions / Policy Guidelines / FAQs, etc before applying for the scholarship programme.

3. The applicants may kindly note that only fully completed application forms along with required documents will be accepted. The Universities and Colleges in India are autonomous bodies and selection of the candidate for admission in particular University/College is not only competitive but rigorous also. It is prerogative of the concerned University/College to select the candidate for admission under the scheme or not. Therefore, only submission of the application form does not confirm admission. The applicants are, therefore, must do due diligence & research on the specific admission criteria laid down by the various Universities for each subject, and ensure that the applicants fulfill the criteria of admission and submit all relevant documentation as required by the Universities in addition to the basic certificates mentioned in the application form.

4. The list of universities where ICCR scholars are usually studying is available on the ICCR Website at http://205.147.97.190/iccr/. The applicants are kindly be advised to check the list very carefully before applying for the University and course.

5. The following guidelines may kindly be noted while filling up the applications:

   (i) In case of the scholars pursuing Science courses, the expenditure on laboratory chemicals and other related incidental charges will be borne by the scholars themselves,

   (ii) For B.E./B. Tech Courses, it may be ensured that the candidates must have taken Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics (PCM) in their school leaving examinations as this is mandatory for the Engineering courses,

   (iii) Applicants should have sufficient knowledge of English language in order to pursue degree course in Indian universiteis,

   (iv) Applicants must be of age of 18 years by July, 2018,

 (v) ICCR does not arrange admission in Medical/Paramedical (Nursing/Physiotherapy/Anesthesia etc.)/Fashion courses,

   (vi) Kindly make sure that applicants are not suffering from life threatening illness or any other medical condition requiring long term treatment,

   (vii) Return economy class airfares to the airport nearest to their place of study and 3rd AC train fares to the nearest railway station if so required would be provided to the students selected under these schemes.

   (viii) All selected students have to stay in hostels. No Exception for family or health reasons will be entertained.

   (ix) The application will automatically be rejected if any column or document is inaccurate/missing/incomplete or blank.

   (x) While filling the application form, no abbreviations should be used. Write full name of degree, course, organisation, institution, university, designation, etc.

(xi) Applications will only be accepted through the Online ICCR A2A Portal.

6. The applicants are requested to follow the above mentioned procedures very carefully and send the application through the nodal authority - Ministry/Organisation. Students selected under this scheme have to undergo English Test which may be conducted by the Embassy if found necessary. The last date for receipt of applications by the Embassy of India in Dakar is 30 January, 2018. The applications received after the due date will not be accepted at any circumstances.
